Diversity of Property Experience
I have been involved in residential property for 22 years, starting with managing HMOs in West London in 2002. I have since gone on to become a portfolio Landlord acquiring and developing residential projects (Planning, refurbs and conversions) in Kent and London, as well as managing a portfolio of HMOs of behalf of Landlords in SW London.
My Background
I’m a certified Project Manager (PMP) with corporate experience in project delivery in the residential and commercial property sectors. Since graduating as a Civil Engineer I moved into the construction and Telecom sectors, delivering 100s of projects involving the acquisition of property, securing Leases and Licenses, management of town planners and solicitors as well as project management of build contractors and commissioning and integration teams.
HMO Knowledge
I’ve had unique experience’s, having lived in a HMO in West London for many years in the 2000s, as well as owning and operating HMOs well before UK landlords and investors became acquainted with the benefits of owning and operating shared houses. This allows a unique insight into both the mindset of sharers who choose to live in the HMOs, a better understanding of the complexities of maintenance associated with a shared house, plus a 1st rate knowledge of the nuances of HMO Licensing and the plethora of compliance related issues.
Peace of Mind for Landlords
There are over 57 different pieces of legislation that impact HMOs in 2024. The burden of compliance in far more onerous than for typical flats and family houses let on a single AST to a single household. Legal responsibilities relating to Fire & egress, maintenance, space standards, amenities within, safety standards and much more are the responsibility of the Landlord and the License holder. Do not be fooled by traditional Property management agents who have found themselves managing and Licensing HMOs as a by-product of doing business with a variety of Landlords. We ONLY deal with HMOs. We have close relationship with Licensing teams in many London boroughs and have a team of compliance and legal experts who ensure we are always at the forefront of standards.
